ACLU Organizations Privacy Statements
ACLU Organizations Privacy Statements
The American Civil Liberties Union, Inc. (“ACLU, Inc.” or National “Union”) and the American Civil Liberties Union Foundation, Inc. (“ACLUF, Inc.,” “ACLUF,” or National “Foundation”) (collectively, “ACLU” or “National”) and their state/local affiliated organizations (“Affiliates”) work to preserve and promote civil rights and civil liberties throughout the United States. Collectively, we refer to National and Affiliates as “ACLU Organizations,” and each National and Affiliate entity may be referred to individually as an “ACLU Organization.”
ACLU Organizations regularly work to expand the right to privacy, increase the control individuals have over their personal information, and ensure civil liberties are enhanced rather than compromised by technological innovation and often share individual personal information with one another to create a coherent experience for our supporters, members, and the public and to maximize ACLU Organizations’ impact nationwide.
While the ACLU Organizations adhere to a common set of ACLU Data Privacy Principles and standards for handling personal information, each ACLU Organization may have its own unique data practices or programs that involve handling personal information. Therefore, ACLU Organizations have separate privacy statements. These privacy statements are listed below.
In some cases, an ACLU Organization may have multiple privacy statements listed below, including the ACLU Organization’s main privacy statement and some that are specific to particular websites, mobile applications, other digital services and/or programs run by that ACLU Organization. Please refer to any privacy statement that is linked on a website or otherwise presented to you directly for the specific ACLU Organization privacy terms that apply.
