April Lee is Community Legal Services of Philadelphia’s first Director of Client Voice. In this role, April ensures CLS clients’ lived experiences is considered at all levels of work and advocacy. April’s lived experience with the child welfare system gives her a perspective and empathy that helps her to advocate for and assist people going through similar situations. April sits on the Pennsylvania Governor’s Opioid Abuse Child Impact Task Force and has helped guide some of the research surrounding the opioid epidemic as part of Philadelphia’s Don’t Take the Risk awareness campaign. April additionally has a passion for writing and has performed her poetry on many stages throughout Philadelphia and abroad.
