Bio
Melvin J. Medina was a national campaign strategist in the ACLU’s National Political Advocacy Department. Melvin is an organizer who develops large-scale advocacy campaigns on criminal justice and policing issues. His portfolio includes developing state clemency campaigns that push governors towards a categorical approach in granting clemency.
Before joining the national ACLU, Melvin served as the public policy and advocacy director at the ACLU of Connecticut. At the Connecticut affiliate, Melvin directed lobbying efforts at the state capitol, designed and executed advocacy campaigns, and established an organizing and leadership program for people harmed by Connecticut’s criminal legal system.
