Report on discovery of possible unexploded WWII ordnance while surveying the European Technical Center (ETC) for a new underground fiber-optic line. Upon discovery, the ETC initiated a contingency plan where critical ETC functions would continue, but with very limited personnel. An alternate communications facility was established in Mainz Finthen as a result, but with limited capabilities. After further investigation, no ordnance was found and the ETC resumed operations normally.
