This opinion from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court on September 20, 2012 approves the acquisition of "certain telephone and Internet communications pursuant to Section 702" of FISA. The court finds that the NSA has adopted sufficient measures to limit dissemination of reports gathered through unauthorized upstream collection, "greatly reduc[ing] the risk that the NSA will run afoul of Section 1809(a)(2)."
