Tuesday, July 10
TSA: The House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation Security will hold a hearing titled, “Challenging the Status Quo at TSA: Perspectives on the Future of Transportation Security.”
Immigration: The Border and Maritime Security Subcommittee of the House Homeland Security Committee will hold a hearing titled “Building One DHS: Building a Secure Community: How Can DHS Better Leverage State and Local Partnerships?” The hearing could address state and local law enforcement involvement in federal immigration programs that have ensnared U.S. citizens and racially profiled Latinos and other people of color.
Reproductive Rights: The House Judiciary Committee will mark up the District of Columbia Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (HR 3803). You can check out our past testimony on this bill here.
Wednesday, July 11
National Security Leaks: The House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security will hold a hearing titled “National Security Leaks and the Law.” Read a recent blog post by Gabe Rottman on “selective leaks.”
TSA: The House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation Security will hold a hearing titled, “Has TSA Met the Deadline to Provide Expedited Screening to Military Service Members?”
Thursday, July 12
Racial Justice: The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee will hold a hearing titled “Beyond Seclusion and Restraint: Creating Positive Learning Environments for All Students.” The hearing could impact the civil rights of students in public schools, particularly students with disabilities and students of color.
