People around the country are taking to the streets to demonstrate their opposition to strengthening the Patriot Act!These patriots were among the hundreds of people who protested at a rally last week organized by the New York Civil Liberties Union. Speakers called on New York's Senator Schumer and Congressman Weiner to co-sponsor legislation to fix Patriot Act flaws and said that "Congress now has the opportunity to place common sense limits on the Patriot Act while still providing law enforcement agencies the tools they need to protect our safety."

On Tuesday, July 26th the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Colorado will be holding rallies calling on Congress to reform the USA Patriot Act in Colorado Springs, Denver, Boulder and Greeley. Many sections of the sweeping law need proper checks and balances to protect our constitutional freedoms. Unfortunately, the chance to do that may be lost forever when Congress votes in the coming days on whether to make permanent and expand the Patriot Act. It is imperative that you ACT NOW!!
