WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court has ruled in a post-9/11 national security case, Ziglar v. Abbasi. The American Civil Liberties Union filed a friend-of-the-court brief in this case.

Hina Shamsi, director of the ACLU’s National Security Project, had this reaction to today’s decision:

“This decision regrettably provides constitutional immunity for some of the most high-level officials responsible for gross abuses in the aftermath of September 11. But we do not believe the case eliminates all avenues of review in national security cases involving constitutional violations.”
