ACLU Stands With Planned Parenthood

NEW YORK — The U.S. Senate is expected to vote soon on legislation to defund Planned Parenthood Federation of America, following the release of deceptively edited videos produced by an extreme anti-abortion organization.

The American Civil Liberties Union stands with Planned Parenthood to condemn the video attacks and Congress’ proposed defunding of one of the nation’s most trusted providers of high-quality, affordable reproductive health services.

Anthony D. Romero, executive director of the ACLU said the following in response:

“Planned Parenthood provides critical life-saving and preventive care to millions of women and men across the country, and has done so for nearly 100 years. This is a groundless attack with one aim – to put an end to safe, legal abortion. We all need to step up for the organization that day after day steps up for us and those we love.”
