ACLU Warns Voters Against Anti-Abortion Deception

WASHINGTON — In response to former President Donald Trump announcing his policy stance on abortion, Deirdre Schifeling, chief political and advocacy officer of the American Civil Liberties Union, issued the following statement:

“This is the same person who took credit for appointing Supreme Court Justices who overturned Roe v. Wade. The same person who said women should be punished for accessing abortion care. Anti-abortion politicians in Congress will not stop until they’re able to pass a nationwide abortion ban, and Trump has given every indication he would sign it. Trump is a good enough politician to recognize that the American people are in favor of protecting abortion so he is trying to hide the ball. The American people are not fooled.”
